Thursday, 8 November

Wow, sorry for the late post - it's been a day.

Today we heard the last few poetry research presentations.  There are still a few students who have not presented, but they will have to be do so next week (the missing work will force report card marks to be registered as "I"s).  Next the students had band.  It may seem trite, but today was the first time the class moved quietly down the hall to see Mr. Grice.  Shouts out to Division 2: I hope this is the start of a new chapter for us.  After recess I shared the report card marks with all and made sure the students copied the names of all missing assignments.  The descriptive paragraphs were by far the most common missing things.  After lunch we did the oral French tests and a social studies activity around graphing climate data.  Some students had difficulty graphing the temperature data (it ended up inverted) but it was easy to correct.  We ended the day with a bit of soccer outside - sorry I forgot the pinnies, again.

Remember that the Remembrance ceremony begins tomorrow at 10:45 (right after recess).  It will last until about 11:20.  Please remember to consider our discussion about how we will conduct ourselves.  It is not appropriate to clap at an event such as this.  We'll take the 30 minutes before recess to get the gym set up. and we'll take time afterwords to put the gym back together.

Thank you for getting the skating forms in.  We also have two more drivers: shouts out to the parents.  Are any parents interested in skating?  Because of my foot injury, I can only turn counter-clockwise when on skates - I hope the rest of you are headed in the right direction :) .
